our athletes monitor their sleep and recovery metrics prior to just planning out their week or, heaven forbid, their entire month of training.

Because life still happens throughout the day and it really starts
to add up throughout the week.
Sometimes we can't complete the amount of exercise that we would like to.
And that's okay
We have to keep in mind that mental stress plays just as important of a role as physiological stress, such as exercise, in regards to our ability to recover.
If you know what helps or hinders your recovery based on the data, you are taking the guesswork out of your health.
Remember: Test, don't guess!
